HIKING: BETWEEN THE SEA AND PESTO
🌿We’ll start at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in the village of Piani di Celle and head up toward the picturesque Borgata Costa, then on to Monte Tabor—standing 160 meters high—where we’ll enjoy a fascinating view of the Ligurian coast and the terraced olive groves, among other sights.
We’ll be surrounded by the scents of the Mediterranean scrub and the colours of autumn.
We’ll visit and learn about a local business, the Calcagno Farm, famous for its traditional products such as pesto made from Genoese Basil DOP grown in their greenhouses; the aroma of Genoese basil DOP is recognisable for its intensity and pleasantness.
The farm tour and tasting of some products cost 10 euros, and participants will also take home a jar of pesto!
