La Val di Nava e le Grotte Passanti
An easy, scenic loop hike featuring many ups and downs.
It crosses one of the most beautiful and wild valleys in the Finale area, the Val di Nava, before climbing the ridge that separates it from the Val Cornei, reaching the beautiful fortified village of Boragni, built by local farmers to protect themselves from Saracen raids that often caused looting and violence even in the inner hinterland.
The route is made even more intriguing by the inclusion of visits to two caves: the Grotta della Strapatente and the Grotta dei Balconi. Both have wide entrances and are accessible to everyone, but the use of a headlamp or flashlight is recommended to observe the stalactites and stalagmites forming inside
