Panoramic loop on historic pavement with sea view in the suggestive setting of Varigotti, immersed in the scent of olive groves and aromatic herbs.
A very simple, suggestive and spectacular route that starts in Varigotti, at the base of Strada Vecchia, a charming historic mule track known as Strada del Boriolo.
In the first phase of the uphill route, visitors can admire the magnificent Villa Terruzzi, a liberty-style small castle dating back to 1915, recently restored. The path winds through ancient terraced slopes, among centuries-old olive trees, offering a breathtaking view of the picturesque village of Varigotti.
As the panorama opens towards the west and the charming Capo San Donato, you venture along an ancient paved road, with hand-laid stones more than nine centuries old. This road, considered a historic jewel, is closed to cyclists and reserved exclusively for pedestrians to preserve its integrity.
The path becomes gentler among the olive trees, crossing dry stone terraces, until reaching a rocky formation known as Sciaccanegrette, where stands a suggestive small Madonna statue. Finally, you reach the summit, the highest and most panoramic point of the entire route, from which it takes the name "Balcony on the Sea," offering a spectacular view over the Ligurian Sea.
