Hike to Rocca Barbena

Loop route that allows you to reach the summit of Rocca Barbena, the "little Dolomite" of Bardineto, crossing beech woods and enjoying splendid views.
The route starts passing by the small church of San Nicolò, then follows the municipal trail number 3 along the ridge that leads to the Nicampi rest area. From here continue south to reach the slopes of Monte Subanco, from where a beautiful section of the Alta Via leads to the Colletto Banco area. Just after passing Colletto, take the right fork marked as an Alta Via connection which, developing on the seaward side, allows you to reach the summit of Rocca Barbena enjoying spectacular panoramas. Continuing along the trail you descend to the locality of Colle Scravaion, where after crossing the provincial road you resume the Alta Via heading north. Near the end of the paved road, turn right onto the dirt road that, after passing the Sciorta farmhouse, returns to town crossing the Muschieto valley.
