San Nicolò loop
- Status Open
- Area Bardineto
Short loop on the outskirts of the village, with gentle slopes, suitable for everyone, allowing a small taste of the Bardineto woods and its history.
The route is ideal for those with little time who want to do a short excursion. After a first stretch on asphalt in the locality of Ruggia, you enter a dirt road that slowly gains altitude. Crossing chestnut and hazel woods, you reach the ridge at Nicampi, where you can take a short break in the equipped rest area of the Consortium. Here you leave the road and join a ridge trail marked by the Balzi Rossi, BeActive, and municipal trail 3 signs. Once you reach the ridge of Mount Maglione, you start to descend until you arrive at the little church of San Nicolò, one of the most characteristic places in Bardineto: the little church is visitable by reservation. A short stretch leads to the Fons Salutis of San Nicolò. The descent ends with the ford of the Rio San Giovanni on a footbridge that allows you to return to the village, completing the loop.
