Bardineto and north of Monte Carmo
Liguria never ceases to amaze!
Just a few kilometres from its marvellous coastline and its best-known towns like Finale Ligure and Pietra Ligure, there is a wonderful countryside to explore, where the one and only motto is NATURE!
Just like the area around Bardineto: nestled on the southern tip of Alta Val Bormida and dominated by Mount Carmo, the highest peak in the area at 1389 metres above sea level, Bardineto is a natural paradise, immersed in woods of chestnut, beech and birch trees, maple, fir and Scots pine.
With its 200 km of forest roads, it is ideal for relaxing mountain bike or e-bike excursions, but there is no shortage of single tracks, which here are truly WOW! Dondella, Cormore, Aviai, Mulino, Pianfieno are pure fun and then, what could be better than taking a break in a local restaurant or agriturismo to taste traditional Ligurian dishes?
But in Bardineto even if you love trekking, you won't be disappointed: the Balzi Rossi Balcony Trail, Bric Agnellino, Monte Carmo are some of the best known destinations, but what about an itinerary to discover the many karst caves in the area, some of which can even be seen in the open air, a family excursion to the local farms or a donkey trek?
