Costalunga Trail
The Costalunga Trail returns for its 8th edition on Saturday 11 April 2026 in Mallare (SV), offering a unique experience combining nature, sport and the breathtaking views of the Ligurian hinterland.
Organised in collaboration with local organisations and technical sponsors, the event offers a range of routes designed for every level of fitness: from the spectacular 50 km Ultra with 2,400 m of elevation gain, to the 5 km Family & Baby Run, ideal for families and beginners. The programme is rounded off by 31K, 17K and 11K distances, to satisfy experienced runners and enthusiasts alike.
The routes wind along paths surrounded by greenery, through woods and along ridges, offering a perfect blend of technical challenge and scenic beauty. Some distances also count towards the ITRA circuit, making the race even more appealing to competitive athletes.
The Costalunga Trail is not just a race, but an opportunity to experience the local area, share a passion for trail running and spend a day dedicated to sport and camaraderie.The race takes place at a free pace in the natural surroundings of Mallare and follows the trails of the Mallare woodland area, offering participants an immersive experience amidst unspoilt nature, challenging elevation gains and panoramic views typical of the Ligurian hinterland.

There are several routes available, designed to suit all fitness levels, each with its own time limit:
– NON-COMPETITIVE Family and Baby Run of approximately 5 km with 200 m elevation gain, ideal for families, children and anyone wishing to enjoy the event in a fun and accessible way.
– NON-COMPETITIVE Trail of approximately 11 km with 480 m elevation gain, known as “La Classica” (no competitive medical certificate required), perfect for those new to trail running.
– COMPETITIVE Trail of approximately 17 km with 600 m elevation gain, known as “La Media” (requires a valid competitive medical certificate), suitable for well-prepared runners.
– COMPETITIVE trail of approximately 31 km with 1400 m elevation gain, known as “La Lunga” (requires a valid competitive medical certificate), for experienced athletes seeking a more demanding challenge.
– COMPETITIVE trail run of approximately 50 km with 2400 m elevation gain, known as “La Ultra” (requires a valid competitive medical certificate), the premier distance for the fittest ultra-trail runners.
