Ponti Romani e la Via Julia Augusta
A pleasant walk through the unspoilt Val Ponci, following in the footsteps of the Roman Via Iulia Augusta, crossing five bridges built of Finale stone, which have survived to this day in good condition despite being 2,000 years old.
We will also visit the evocative Roman Quarries – three large tunnel quarries – a fascinating quarrying site that supplied the stone used in the construction of Roman structures.
The second part becomes more challenging and, after a stop at Ciappo del Sale to admire its curious rock carvings, we reach the summit of the imposing Rocca di Corno (313 m), from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view over Finale as far as the island of Gallinara.
