UCI Enduro World Cup Pietra Ligure: annunciato il percorso di gara a una settimana dal via
One week ahead of the first official practice day, the race course of the UCI Enduro World Cup in the Finale Outdoor Region has been officially revealed. This year’s event will be hosted in Pietra Ligure, a Ligurian town that has welcomed numerous international competitions in recent years and made its World Cup debut in 2023.
2025 Race Course
The 2025 race course marks a true return to the roots of enduro: riders will face two demanding race days — Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 — exploring the varied landscapes of the Pietra Ligure area and the Val Maremola. From the trails at the foot of Monte Carmo to those in Ranzi and Monte Grosso, the course offers a perfect blend of technical challenge, endurance, and stunning scenery.
Saturday’s stage kicks off from Bric Merizzo, featuring the thrilling and varied trail Isallo Extasy, one of the longest in the region. After climbing back up to the Giogo di Giustenice, riders will tackle Hiroshima Mon Amour and the technical Dolcenera, closing the day with 1,600 meters of elevation gain and nearly 40 km of riding.
But they will need to conserve energy, because Sunday will be even tougher. The stage begins at Monte Grosso with stage SpillPietra, followed by a demanding 900-meter climb to Fedeli alla Linea, then continues with Gabry Trail and finishes in style on Armuin in the Ranzi area. Sunday’s totals: 1,800 meters of climbing over 43 km.
The Day 2 course will also be the route used for the Open Race on Saturday, giving amateur riders the chance to compete on a real World Cup track in one of Italy’s most iconic enduro destinations. This year’s Open Race also includes the E-EDR category for e-mountain bikes, with a slightly shorter route to allow for a full ride on a single battery. Registrations for the Open Race close on May 2nd, so there are only a few hours left to secure a spot.
The World Cup course includes a single shuttle-assisted climb up to Melogno pass, provided by Finale Freeride and Finale Express, the official transport partners of the Finale Outdoor Region. The Open Race does not include any shuttle transfers.
Race Director Francesco Gozio commented: “We are thrilled to bring back the two-day format this year — in our opinion, the one that best showcases what true enduro riding is all about. It’s not just about speed and technical skills, but also physical fitness, energy management, and the ability to endure two full race days after two days of practice. This format also perfectly reflects the bike tourism offering of the Finale Outdoor Region, with long days in the saddle exploring a vast and trail-rich territory. From an organizational standpoint, it’s a demanding format, and I want to thank our amazing staff and all the local associations involved in course management, which allows us to guarantee a high level of safety for all riders.”
The event takes place from May 8 to 11 in Pietra Ligure.
The action kicks off on Thursday, May 8 in Piazza San Nicolò da Bari with the official opening ceremony, attended by local authorities from the municipalities along the race course, followed by a press conference with the top riders.
From Friday to Sunday, the Event Village will be open in Piazza San Nicolò, offering fans and visitors the chance to soak up the World Cup atmosphere, but don’t miss to visit the team paddocks, and check out the tech zones.
