Experienced bikers will be challenged by the sharp bends in a gully and steep terrain in the forest, making this a truly iconic section of the Region.

The Cavatappi Lower trail presents a challenge even for experienced bikers and their bikes' brakes. It is a challenging route that includes a steep section in the forest with dry and firm, but often dusty, ground. The trail then enters a dirt gully, where you need to use the banks of the gully to slow down your speed as you descend into the valley. Although it is a very fun trail, caution is needed when tackling it.

During times of drought avoid lighting fires, choose suitable trails avoiding those in the pine forest and favouring those with alternative routes for going back.

Remember: 1515 for forest fires, 112 for medical emergencies. No matter what, always make sure someone knows where you are headed.

Respect other climbers

Bear in mind, don’t hog climbing routes, clean up chalk off holds after using them and don’t scatter your things around. It’s always a good idea to gather your belongings in one place.

If you are training on a pitch, use your own HMS

If you are training on a pitch and repeating it several times, it is best to use an HMS-type carabiner instead of threading it directly into the maillon to avoid its wear and tear.

Rappeling

In the “finalese” crags you rarely find fixed carabiners, therefore you’ll have to be able to do a particular type of rappel to lower off.

Wear a wetsuit or a t-shirt for water activities

Even in summer, it’s always best to wear a wetsuit or a t-shirt: they protect you from the sun, avoid the risk of hypothermia on longer outings and can be of great help in case of jellyfish.

Have a buoy with you

Make sure you have a buoy with you. It is mandatory during low season, but it is always a good idea to take it with you even during high season.

Preserve our precious sea. During your excursions you can look around and admire all of the beautiful creatures and living organisms but do not touch them and do not pollute.
