Le Tagliate Round Loop (Gravel Tour)
- Status Open
- Tipologia LBL_SPORT_TIPO_BIKE_GRAVEL_ABBREVIATA
Suitable for both gravel and monster cross / MTB bikes, this route explores the inland hills and includes a visit to the iconic Base Nato.
A medium-length ride with moderate elevation gain, it doesn’t present any major technical challenges. The only more technical section is the singletrack leading from Base Nato towards the Pian dei Corsi refuge. The surface here is quite compact, as it’s regularly used by mountain bikers heading up towards the trails starting from Base Nato. The final 200–300 metres are a bit looser under tyre, but we tackled them without issues even with gravel bikes running 700x40 tyres.Base Nato is a landmark in the area, but the Tagliate trails are just as impressive. At the moment, forestry work is underway there, so be mindful of any machinery operating in the area.
Following the heavy rains that damaged parts of the region, some bridges have been repaired. In other areas, you’ll need to cross the river by fording it. The fords are always manageable but should be avoided in the days immediately after strong rainfall.
