📍 BARBOTTINA FOREST and CIMA DEI BALZI ROSSI
The excursion, starting from the central Melogno Fort, crosses the splendid Barbottina State Forest, taking a couple of detours that allow us to leave the usual route. Amidst the colours of autumn, we arrive at the panoramic peak of Costa dei Balzi Rossi, the secondary peak of Bric Agnellino. We stop at the Catalano meadows with wild saffron in bloom and return along a dirt road.

Departure at 9.30 a.m. from Colle del Melogno, packed lunch and return at around 3.30 p.m., or later if we feel like staying longer...

Elevation gain: approximately 400m
Length: approximately 13km
Difficulty: medium hiking (E).
🎒 What to bring
Hiking/trail shoes or boots, comfortable walking clothes suitable for the altitude, k-way, walking sticks for those who are used to using them, water, packed lunch and snack.
