Carmo double loop

Challenging but extremely rewarding double loop, allowing you to explore the Carmo from two sides, reaching the summit and enjoying spectacular views along the entire route.
This double loop allows you to traverse the Carmo extensively, with two very spectacular passages also along the ridge towards the Ravinet.
After an initial ascent from the Giogo di Toirano, a high route connection first leads to Cornà, then to Ciazzalunga; from here another high route connection brings you back to the Bardineto side. A stretch of dirt road allows you to reach a path that with a steep climb leads up to the Pagliarina saddle, where you cross the High Route and make the final assault to the Carmo saddle, reaching the hut of the "Friends of Carmo". Summit ascent is optional.
Then following the trail marked with a red X you descend to Ciazzalunga, then back to Cornà and Giogo di Toirano.
The return follows the ridge that emerges from the small church of San Nicolò.
