DRAMATISED HISTORICAL TREKKING - BERGEGGI
Paths of Memory and Freedom. A walking tour in collaboration with Hsa Teatro.
On 26 April, Bergeggi will host the ‘Paths of Memory and Freedom’ walking tour, an experience that combines nature, history and theatre.
We will walk along paths that bear the traces of the Second World War and the Resistance in our area, passing memorial stones and hearing stories rich in meaning. The theatrical performances, simple yet intense, will accompany the route, making the walk even more engaging and bringing the history of these places to life. This historical trek, organised in collaboration with ANPI, the BERGEGGI TOWN COUNCIL and HSA Teatro, forms part of the events celebrating the anniversary of the liberation taking place throughout the Gulf of the Island.
MEETING POINT AND DEPARTURE
2.30 pm Bar Geggi Torre del Mare (Torre d’Ere apartment block) – Bergeggi
TECHNICAL DETAILS
- Length: approx. 5 km
- Elevation gain: approx. 250 m
- Difficulty: E (hiking).
- Level: Intermediate. Sure-footedness required. (Suitable for anyone accustomed to walking on trails with a moderate elevation gain and in normal physical and mental condition)
- Mixed terrain: tarmac, footpath, dirt track, gravel.
EQUIPMENT
- Hiking boots compulsory, walking poles recommended.
- Technical layered clothing, bandana, windbreaker, sun cream.
- In your rucksack: small first-aid kit, regular medication, sun cream, at least 1 litre of water, snacks and a packed lunch if required.
The guide may decide to exclude from the trek anyone who does not have suitable footwear or who is deemed unsuitable.
