🌿Come and discover the natural caves of the Finale area, where Neanderthals left their mark thousands of years ago.
A circular route linking prehistoric caves and the incredible Val Ponci with its ancient Roman bridges. It’s not just a hike, it’s a journey back in time. From the daily life of Neanderthals in the Grotta delle Fate and the Arma delle Manie, to the secrets of Neolithic pottery at the Riparo di Pian del Ciliegio.
But that’s not all: we’ll walk along the Via Julia Augusta, crossing three Roman bridges that have stood the test of time for over 2,000 years. A journey through history, surrounded by the beauty of the Finale area, a unique experience to connect with our origins amidst wild nature and archaeology.
📍 Meeting point and times
- Meeting point: 10.00 am in Calvisio, parking case popolari, Piazza della Resistenza (free parking)
- Return: approximately 3.00–3.30 pm
- For those travelling by train: From Finale Ligure station, take the TPL bus (line 31) to Calvisio. Get off at the Via Calvisio terminus (10 mins). The terminus is the meeting point.
