TREKKING URBANO alla Madonna degli Angeli
The trek focuses on the massacre that took place on 27 December 1943 at the Forte della Madonna degli Angeli and on the resistance experienced by the Lavagnola district, which was heavily bombed in June and July 1944.
Stages of the trek:
2.30 pm meeting at the Ipercoop in Savona and from there climb to the Church of the Madonna degli Angeli.
Continue to the Madonna degli Angeli fort, a place of remembrance of the massacre of 27 December
1943.
From the fort, descend towards the Lavagnola neighbourhood, stopping at the Ciantagalletto air-raid shelter.
Visit the Lavagnola neighbourhood, stopping at the commemorative plaques in the Church of San Dalmazio.
We will remember the sites of the bombings of 4/6 and 3/7/1944.
The trek will end at Savona Town Hall. Inside, we will admire Eso Peluzzi's work on the Massacre of Madonna degli Angeli.
